Start with inside or outside
The exact location often tells us more than a pest name. Name the room, ceiling space, shed, verandah, garden edge or other spot involved. Then describe what you saw, heard or found.
Mention when it appeared, whether it has returned and anything nearby that has since been cleaned, moved, repaired or sprayed. A photo can help if the sign has disappeared, but it is not needed to get started.
Give outdoor clues a clear location
For an outdoor concern, tell us how the spot sits in relation to the building. It may be under an eave, beside a doorway, against a fence or near stored timber. If the area needs special access, include the gate or driveway details and tell us who can open it.
Keep a different sign in another area separate when you describe it. The two may be connected, or each may need its own check.
